Larry was born on March 7, 1940, at the Jefferson County Hospital to Elmer Adolf and Verle Louise (Lyon) Hall. Larry and Judith Eileen Swartout were married on September 23, 1961. The two would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this September.
Larry was the owner of Larry's Barber Shop on the NE corner of the square, where he worked for 52 years before retiring in 2013. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Fairfield and served on the board and helped in many capacities. Larry enjoyed being outside gardening, working in their flower beds and hunting and golfing with family and friends. Larry and Judith loved traveling, especially to US National Parks, enjoying the beauty of God's creation. They took an annual trip to the Lake of the Ozarks with the family where they enjoyed boating, water skiing and time together, especially playing cards. He also loved playing cards with his buddies at card club. Larry was very talented and spent time in his woodworking shop with his sons creating family heirlooms. Larry and Judith frequently attended Iowa Hawkeyes sporting events and were season ticket holders.
Larry's greatest love was his family. It brought him great joy to be there while his children and grandchildren grew and to whole-heartedly support them as they worked towards their goals and aspirations.
