Laura Mary Romine

      Laura Mary Romine, 87, of Washington, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, in the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City following a brief illness.

      Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, in the St. James Catholic Church in Washington with the Rev. Paul Appel officiating. Burial will be in the Wellman Cemetery in Wellman. Visitation will begin at noon Friday in the Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the St. James Catholic Church.

      Mrs. Romine was born Sept. 22, 1921 in Riceville, the daughter of Louis and Grace (Green) Kehoe. She married Hubert Romine on Dec. 29, 1944 in Pensacola, Fla.
