Laura R. Fortune
Laura Ruth Fortune, 88, of Morning Sun, died Saturday, Nov. 15, at Great River Hospice, West Burlington.
Visitation will begin at noon Tuesday, Nov. 18, at Elliott Chapel in New London with family present from 5-7 p.m. The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19 at the chapel with the Rev. Gary Schneider officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery in Mt. Union.
A memorial has been established.
She was born Sept. 22, 1920, in Yarmouth, the daughter of George and Katherine Fye Wallman. She was a 1938 graduate of Yarmouth High School. On Jan. 12, 1942, she married James Fortune in Kahoka, Mo.
