Laura Robbie Gibbs

Laura Robbie Gibbs, 39, of Omaha, Neb., formerly of Burlington, died after a nine-month battle with lung cancer at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 3, 2005, at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

      Visitation was from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lunning Chapel, where the family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral for Ms. Gibbs was today at 1 p.m. at Lunning chapel, with Pastor Maurice Moore officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in Sharon Cemetery on County Road J48 in rural Farmington. A memorial has been established for her son's education.

Survivors include one son, Tyler Alleman at home; two sisters, Shelly Strawhacker of Burlington and Angela Abbott of Omaha; two brothers, Rusty Gibbs and Randy Gibbs, both of Fort Dodge; nine nieces and nephews; and her significant other, Rick Dyer of Omaha.

      She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
