Laurel L. Trogdon

Laurel Lee ?Lolly? Trogdon, 74, of Wayland, died Monday, March 7, 2016, in the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City from complications of COPD.

Her family will celebrate her life at a later date. A general memorial has been established. Beatty Funeral Home in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Trogdon was born Oct. 16, 1941, in Des Moines, the daughter of Charles Edwin and Theresa (Bougher) Edgington. She married Edwin Cyril Trogdon. The couple later divorced.

She was raised by Charles and her stepmother, Mary Edgington. She enjoyed cross stitch, crocheting, baking, cooking, gardening and being outside. She was a fun-loving, cheerful person, and her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are three children, Michael Trogdon of Des Moines, Wanda Trogdon and fiancé Gary Evans of Wayland, and Timothy Trogdon and Amy Brenzier of Des Moines; three stepchildren, Charles, Cathleen, and Sherry Trogdon, all of Des Moines; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Waddill of Des Moines; and three step-siblings, Patricia Shoning, and Ronald and John Crouse, all of Des Moines; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one stepson, Edwin Cyril Trogdon Jr.; one brother, Robert Edgington; three sisters, Wanda Grylls, Barbara Wilson, and Marjorie Sandelin; and one half sister, Sandra Edgington.
