Lauren Chalupa
Lauren LaVerne Chalupa, 91, of Washington, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, in the Washington County Hospital in Washington.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 28, at the First Christian Church in Washington with the Rev. Colton Clay officiating. Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday at the church. A memorial fund has been established for the First Christian Church. Beatty-Peterseim Funeral Home in Washington is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Chalupa was born Aug. 8, 1924, in Richmond, the son of Fred and Olive (Wallace) Chalupa. He married Leta Koch on June 3, 1950, in Brighton.
He graduated from Washington High School. He worked as office manager and parts manager for McCormick Ford and Mincer Ford. He was a member of the First Christian Church and enjoyed restoring cars, especially his 1931 Model A Ford. He cherished the time he spent with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Leta, of Washington; two sons, Michael Chalupa and wife Janet of Bremerton, Washington, and Stephen Chalupa and wife Judi of Washington; four grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four siblings, Ferd Chalupa, Jeanette Banks, Norma Loeffler, and Wayne Chalupa and wife Joanne; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Junior, and Bob Chalupa; and one sister, Jane Hensel.
