Laurence "Larry" Allen Timm was born March 12, 1944 in Grinnell, Iowa, the son of Albert and Dora (Smith) Timm. He attended HLV school in Victor. Larry married Iona Kahler on September 25, 1965. Together they had four children, Lori, Mike, Jeff and Kari; they divorced in 1975. He then married Kathy Furler-Sherman in 1989, they later divorced. Larry worked as a tool and die maker for Amana Refrigeration, Kinze, Williamsburg Manufacturing and was a farm hand for Jim Timm. He and Kathy also owned a family business Timmers Tackle.
Larry was a Buckskinner for many years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Later in life he enjoyed spending his time at the Amana Gun Club. Larry died Sunday, May 25, 2025, peacefully at his home.
He is survived by his children, Lori (Dave) Shepard of Marengo, Mike (Laury) Timm of Vermillion, Ohio, Jeff (Tami) Timm of Atkins and Kari (Tim) McCaw of Marengo; three stepsons, Ryan (Tina) Sherman of Marengo, Chad Sherman of Parnell and Aaron (Brianne) Sherman of Marengo; his brother Fred (Lida) Timm of Marengo; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John and Charles, and sister Josie Manson.
