LaVerne C. Hult August 4, 1911 - September 10, 2003

      LaVerne C. Hult, 92, of Swedesburg, died on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

      The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13 at the Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Philip Borleske officiating. Burial will follow at the Swedesburg Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield, with family present from 4 to 6 p.m. Memorials have been established to the Swedesburg Church, Swedish Museum and the Sunrise Terrace Eden Project.

      Survivors include four daughters, Joyce Miller of Denver, Suzanne Rich of Bloomington, Ill., Bev White of Lincoln, Neb., and Loris Gregory of Apple Valley, Minn.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother, Herbert Hult of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Vivian Carlson and Genevieve Anderson, both of Davenport; and a sister-in-law, Opal Hult of Mt. Pleasant.

      In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.
