Law may deter crime

To the Editor:
I do not believe the passing of more liberal gun laws was intended as an opportunity for cities and county governments to pass even more restrictive laws than we had in the past.
I believe it was for the law-abiding public to have the opportunity to go armed if they so choose for their own protection and the protection of others.
Passing more restrictions will not deter criminals and unstable persons from committing crimes. It may help prevent crimes if these people do not know who is armed and who is not.
