Lawrence Edwin Gustafson

      Lawrence Edwin Gustafson, 86, of Batavia, died Saturday evening, Oct. 4, 2008, at home.

      A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating. Burial will be in Batavia Cemetery in Batavia.

      Visitation with the family present will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

      In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa. Cards and memorials may be sent to ?2677 Ash Ave., Eldon 52554.

      Mr. Gustafson was born Sept. 17, 1922, in Des Moines, the son of John Linus and Vera Smith Gustafson. He married Lorraine Higdon, and they later divorced. He married Betty Popejoy Aug. 22, 1977, in Fairfield. She preceded him in death Aug. 10, 2001.
