Leander M. Berg

KEOTA ? Leander M. Berg, 96, of Keota, died Friday, May 14, 2010, in Maplewood Manor in Keota, of declining health.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, at Holy Trinity Parish-St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota with the Rev. Charles Fladung officiating. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Cemeteries-St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Harper. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home where there will be a wake service at 4 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for Keokuk County Hospice or the Clear Creek Heritage Association.

Mr. Berg was born May 26, 1913, in Harper, the son of Nick and Magdalena (Adam) Berg. He married Mary J. Merz on Feb. 1, 1938.
