Leann R. Hunter, 53, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Leann was born on November 14, 1968, in Mt. Pleasant the daughter of Victor M. and Nancy (Barton) Moeller. She graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College with her Bachelor's degree in Crimal Justice and Psychology. She was united in marriage to Tadd Hunter on October 6, 2007, in Mt. Pleasant. Leann worked for the Department of Human Services, Christamore House and later at the Mt. Pleasant Correctional Facility as a sex offender counselor. She enjoyed drives in the country, music, raising dogs, but her grandchildren and her friends were a very important part in her life. Leann was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

She is survived by her husband, Tadd of Mt. Pleasant; her daughters, Abby Moeller of Salem, Masi Hirschy of Burlington; her grandchildren, Braxton, Aaliyah and Kooper; her mother and step-father, Nancy and Wayne Krieger of Salem; her sister, Kristy Ensminger of Mt. Pleasant; and a host of loving friends.

Leann was preceded in death by her father, Victor Moeller; and a daughter, Ariel Rae Moeller.

Leann's family will host a celebration of her life on Saturday, May 7, 2022, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Moose Lodge. According to her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the care of Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
