Lecia Marie Simons, 57, of Libertyville passed away Saturday, May 23, 2020, with her husband by her side at her home.

A Celebration of Life service will be at a later date. Memorials can be made to Michael Simons and will go toward children's cancer research. They can be mailed to Michael Simons, P.O. Box 52, Libertyville, IA 52567.

Lecia was born Sept. 13, 1962, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Robert "Bob" and Lynda (Baker) Good. Lecia married Michael Shane Simons on April 25, 2009, at the Walton Club, Fairfield.

Lecia graduated from Fairfield High School and worked at the Jefferson County Sherriff's Office as a correctional officer and civil secretary. Lecia spent many hours outside working in her flower bed, hunting arrow heads or sitting around the fire pit. She collected antiques, enjoyed reading (one of her favorites was the Twilight series) and watching Western movies or paranormal shows. Lecia loved spending time with her family, friends and pets. She also was a huge Hawkeyes fan.

She will be missed by her husband, Michael of Libertyville; two daughters, Brandi Simons of Richland and Aimee Simons of Stockport; her four grandchildren, Blake Padget, Avery Young, Gracie Young and Jaxson Burns; her mother, Lynda Good; siblings, Brad Good of Linneus, Mo., Pam Good of Lockridge, Iowa, and Debra Schubert of Wyoming; mother-in-law, Martha Thompson of Fairfield; sister-in-law, Nicole Hollander of Fairfield; brother-in-law, Zack Thompson of Marion; and many nieces and nephews.

Lecia was preceded in death by her father, Bob; grandparents; nephew, Matthew Good; and father-in-law, Ron Thompson.
