Leona I. Matthes
IOWA CITY - Leona I. Matthes, 94, of Solon, died Sunday, March 24, 2002, at the Solon Nursing Care Center, following a brief illness.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Iowa City, with the Rev. Michael Phillips officiating. Burial will be on Thursday at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, were a rosary will be said at 5 p.m. and a parish vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Solon Nursing Care Center.
