Leona Kassmeyer

Leona E. Kassmeyer, 93, a resident of West Point Care Center in West Point, died at 9:09 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at the care center.

      The funeral service was at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point, with the Father Apo T. Mpanda officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in West Point. Memorials have been established to Marquette Schools, St. Mary's Catholic Church, West Point Care Center or to the Franciscan Sisters. Link Funeral Home in West Point is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include three sons, Ralph and his wife Doris Kassmeyer, Bob and his wife Val Kassmeyer, and Steve and his wife Sandy Kassmeyer, all of West Point; five daughters, Sister Ladonna "Jeannette" Kassmeyer F.S.P.A. of La Crosse, Wis., Francine and her husband Jim Edwards of Boonville, Mo., Diane and her husband Tom Hughes of Belpre, Ohio, Nancy and her husband Dennis Washburn of Cedar Rapids, and Judy and her husband Gary Arnold of Carthage, Mo.;

18 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

      In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Minnie Groene, Ida Blindt, Anna Holtkamp and Loretta Sallen; a brother, Hubert Krittenbrink; and a grandchild.
