Leora K. Livix
Leora K. Livix, 86, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died at 2:50 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, at Emmanuel Convalescent Hospital in Bakersfield, Calif.
The funeral service and burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Charles Tweed of the Congregational-Universalist Church officiating. There will be no visitation at the Weir Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, which is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Livix was born Sept. 24, 1914, at Keokuk, the daughter of Frank J. and Bessie P. Brock Brodsky, Sr. She married Harold S. ?Red? Livix on Aug. 5, 1945, at Mt. Pleasant.
She graduated from Argyle High School in 1932 as the valedictorian and worked at the Colonial and Vogue Beauty Shops in Mt. Pleasant a total of 15 years. She was a bookkeeper for Crane Furniture Store for two years and spent one year in Pierre, S.D., as a bookkeeper.
Survivors innclude her husband, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Frank J. Brodsky, Sr., and two sisters, Dorothea Vandepete and Nora Bethene.
