Leota Mary Crim, 97 of Washington, died Friday,

May 6, 2022, at her home in Washington.

Private family burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City.

Beatty-Peterseim Funeral, Cremation Care and Monument Services is assisting with arrangements.

Leota was born June 5, 1924, in Wellman, Iowa, the daughter of John and Velda (Herr) Davisson. She graduated from Wellman High School in 1942, taught rural school and graduated from Ottumwa Beauty School in 1945. She was united in marrage to Dayton Crim, December 29, 1949.

She was employed at the Washington High School for many years, retiring to care for her husband. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Eastern Star and White Shrine. She was known for her wonderful cooking.

Survivors include sons, Wayne Crim of West Burlington, IA, and Marvin Crim of Iowa City, IA; sister, Evelyn Guthrie of Arizona and one grandson, Mike.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dayton, in 2006; and two brothers, Verle and Rodney Davisson.
