Leslie Carleen May, 83, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020, at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.

She was born on Dec. 6, 1936, in Lincoln, Neb. the daughter of Vernon Carl and Grace Cleo (Poage) Nootz. Leslie was a graduate of high school in Lincoln, Neb., and following her schooling she went to work for J.L. Brandies as a credit manager in Lincoln. After she moved to Mt. Pleasant, she began working for McWhirter Chevrolet Buick Inc. as an accountant.

Leslie is survived by her children, Marvin J. (Diane) May of Mt. Pleasant and Judy R. (Jim) Stebbins of Mt. Pleasant; her grandchildren, Zachary (Katelyn) May, Michael (Marlene) Stebbins and Katie (Daniel) Caceres; her sister, Beth Bohaty of Lincoln, Neb.; and her brother, Mike (Mary Jo) Nootz of Hamilton, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Private family graveside services will be held at the Salem East Cemetery in Salem. According to her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the care of Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
