Lester Howard Hoback

      COLUMBUS JUNCTION - Lester Howard Hoback, 78, of Conesville, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, following a brief illness.

      Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction, with the Rev. Rick Crooks officiating. Burial will be in Conesville Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 4 to 7 p.m. this evening, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Grace United Church in Conesville or the Conesville Volunteer Fire Department.

      Mr. Hoback was born on March 24, 1926, near West Chester, to Otto and Emmer Susan (Underwood) Hoback. When he was 6 years old, he moved to Conesville with his grandparents, Caloway and Belle (Ratliff) Underwood. On May 29, 1949, he married Patricia Jane Brown near Conesville.
