Lester L. Cook

Lester Leland Cook, 84, of New London, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iowa City.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. today, Feb. 20, at Kimzey Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, with family present from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeffrey McPheron officiating. Burial will be at Burge Cemetery in New London, with military honors conducted by the Henry County Honor Guard.

He was born May 20, 1924, in Baltimore Township, the son of Delbert and Grace Goody Cook. On September 28, 1951, he married Goldie Jones in Council Bluffs.
