The Rev. Lewis Dysart Savage, 93, of Mt. Pleasant, died Monday, March 10, at Pleasant Manor Care Center.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, March 14, at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family will recieve friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 15, at Salem Friends Church in Salem, with the Rev. Stephen Savage officiating. Burial will be at Salem East Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 7, 1915, on the family farm near Salem, the son of David and Mae Dysart Savage. On May 26, 1936, he married Esther L. Stanley in Indianola.
A graduate of Salem High School, he attended William Penn College and William Jewell College. He taught in several rural Iowa schools and served as pastor in Quaker churches in Iowa, Ohio and Indiana, and in the Salem area at the Cedar Creek Friends Church.
He was a member of the Society of Friends (Quakers) and Salem Friends Church, and served as chairman of the Lewelling House Board.
He is survived by his son, Stephen Savage and his wife Marilee of Salem, Ohio; three daughters, Sharolyn Lisk and her husband Loren of Mt. Pleasant, Joan Kildow and her husband William of Lancaster, Calif., and Rosalie Padgett and her husband Jerry of LaCrosse, Wis.; one daughter-in-law, Elaine Savage of Grand Island, Neb., and several grandchildren and further descendents.
His wife, sons George and Stanley Savage, brothers Sam, John, Joe, and David Savage, and sisters Dorothy Barber and Lucille Savage preceded him in death.
