Lewis R. Wilkerson

Lewis Ray "Toad" Wilkerson, 89, of New London, died Saturday, May 10, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.

Visitation began at 8 a.m. today, May 13, at Lunning Chapel in Burlington, with family present following a Christian Wake Service at 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dodgeville, with the Revs. David Steinle and Patrick Hilgendorf as celebrants. Burial will be in Dodgeville Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for Great River Hospice House and Dodgeville Cemetery.

He was born Nov. 24, 1918, in Des Moines County, the son of Cecil and Margaret Hummer Wilkerson. On April 16, 1941, he married Loyola Vorwerk in Dodgeville.
