Lila A. Mincer, 100, of Columbus Junction, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022, at Lone Tree Health Care Center in Lone Tree. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Columbus Junction. Burial will be held at the Columbus City Cemetery. Visitation for Lila will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at the funeral home. A memorial has been established at the funeral home in memory of Lila. Lila Wasson was born on February 22, 1922, in Duxbury, MN, the daughter of Samuel and Gertrude (Martin) Wasson. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Mincer on November 6, 1943 in Muscatine. Lila worked various jobs over the years including the Ordinance Plant, Burlington Box Plant, Pearl Works, Smith Craft and Rath Packing. She was a member of the Columbus Junction Methodist Church, Red Hat Society, Peanuts Card Club and the Rebekahs. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, sewing and never threw out a birthday card. Most of all, she loved her family, attending all the grandchildren’s activities, especially sporting events.
Lila will be dearly missed by her children, Marcene Soukup of Fredonia, Joyce (Albert) Dean of Little Rock, MS, Lynn (Donna) Mincer and Larry (Laura) Mincer, both of Columbus Junction; eleven grandchildren; Jody Kirk, Jamie (Stacy) Kirk, Viki (Jovo) Grau, Kevin (Tammy) Dean, Angela (Scott) Curtis, Brittney (Crystal) Mincer, Brian (Sonya) Flake, Lisa (Adam) Burkhalter, Patrick Mincer, Kaitlin (Jared) Stogdill and Alex (Taylor) Mincer; 15 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Donna Beeman of Muscatine; many nieces, nephews and extended family; and special friend, Peg Griffin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and brother.
