Linda Cheryl Humble, 71, of Batavia, Iowa, passed away Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020, at

Brees Rest Home in Albia.

As were her wishes, her body had been cremated. The family respectfully requests no flowers, but memorial contributions in Linda's honor may be directed to Brees Rest Home, 210 Washington Ave. East, Albia, IA 52531, in recognition of the excellent care provided to Linda and her family over the years she was there. Linda Cheryl Humble was born Nov. 10, 1948, in Fairfield, Iowa, to James and Evelyn Pederson North. She attended Cardinal Community Schools and married the love of her life, Larry Humble on Aug. 27, 1965. Together they lived in Batavia, where she worked as a loving mother and homemaker. Linda was a wonderful housekeeper and could take anything and make it look beautiful. She put her attention to detail to use in her flower garden as well as on her Christmas light display. She was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Batavia for many years and spent time working at the Christian Book and Gift Shop in Ottumwa. She had a loving heart and cared deeply for her family.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Zachary Humble.

Left to share her story is her husband of almost 55 years, Larry Humble of Batavia; two sons, Jayson (Karen) Humble of Batavia and Jamie (Stephanie) Humble of Batavia; five grandchildren, Sam (Sammy) Humble, Corbin, Alice, Caroline and Presley Humble; two great-grandchildren, Hazel and Oliver Humble; two siblings, Jim (Dawn) North of Olathe, Kan., and Kim (Ron) Scherer of Eldon; as well as many extended family and friends.
