Linda Lou (Baer) Wenger, 72, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015, in her home near Wayland.
Her Beginning of Heavenly Life Celebration will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 1, 2016 at Bethel Mennonite Church in Wayland with the Rev. Curt Kuhns officiating. Following the service, the family will greet friends and have a time of fellowship and a meal. Private family burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held Thursday at the church, where family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The family requests that memorials be given to Bethel Mennonite Church to be distributed to a charity of the family?s choice. The Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home in Washington is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Wenger was born Dec. 11, 1943, in Wauseon, Ohio, the daughter of Lawrence and Myrtie (Frey) Baer. She married the love of her life, Robert Wenger, on March 21, 1964, in Archbold, Ohio.
She and her husband lived near Wayland for most of the 52 years of their marriage. They dedicated their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ by serving others through volunteer service, children?s ministry, foster parenting and working with children with special needs.
Surviving are her husband, Robert; three children, Phil Wenger and wife Ginny, Annette Goetsch and husband Alan, and Devon Grimes and husband Trent; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; three sisters, Mim Baer, Esther Lewis, and Connie Blake and husband Steve; one brother, Ed Baer and wife Marlene; and one sister-in-law, Sherry Baer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Elwood Baer in infancy, and Curtis Baer; and one brother-in-law, Jack Lewis.
