Linda Marie Bechtel

Linda Marie Bechtel, 69, of Fairfield, died Sunday, March 23, 2014, at home.

A funeral is at 10 a.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Sheila Smith officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bechtel was born May 6, 1944, in Hanover, Pa., the daughter of Charles Hansford and Grace Dickensheets Hansford. She married Glenn G. Bechtel Sr. June 19, 1960, in Hanover.

She worked as a manager at Westbound.

She enjoyed collecting dolls and jewelry.

The most important things to her was being a mother to many and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn G. Bechtel Sr.; five children, Bonnie J. VanBuskirk and spouse Michael of Packwood, Christopher A. Bechtel and spouse Shelley of Douds, Lisa M. Downing and spouse James, Glenn G. Bechtel Jr. and spouse Lea, and Todd R. Bechtel and spouse Dawn, all of Fairfield; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Larry Hansford of Bothell, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, Harry Hansford, Lila McDannell, Margaret Forry and Norman Dickensheets.
