KALONA ? Linda Arlene Wooldridge, 74, of Kalona, died Monday, Nov. 9, 2015, in the Pleasantview Home in Kalona.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 12, at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, Nov. 13, at the East Union Mennonite Church in rural Kalona with the Rev. Joel Beachy and the Rev. Firman Gingerich officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Center Point Cemetery in Center Point. A memorial fund has been established for the Pleasantview Home.
Mrs. Wooldridge was born March 15, 1941, in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Howard and Mary (McVey) Dufoe. She married Wesley Wooldridge in 1966. The couple divorced in 1983.
She graduated from Center Point High School and the University of Iowa with a degree in dietetics. She served in the Army from 1964 to 1967. She had lived in Iowa City from 1983 to 1990 and enjoyed working as a dietitian at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and as a consultant for nursing homes in the Des Moines area from 1990 to 1995. She had lived in the Kalona community since 1996 and worked at the Pleasantview Home until 2008 as food service director/dietitian. She was a member of the East Union Mennonite Church, WMSC, and the Lioness Club. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, time with friends and family, traveling, and most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are her ex-husband, Wesley, of Ruskin, Florida; three children, Lori Miller and husband Lyle of Wellman, Julie Devlin and husband Michael of Mount Sinai, New York, and Mark Wooldridge of Kalona; seven grandchildren; and two brothers, Gene Dufoe and wife Loretta of Mesa, Arizona, and Don Dufoe of Center Point.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister-in-law, Shirlee Dufoe.
