CLARKSTON, Mich. ? Linden Harding, 75, died Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015, in Clarkston, Mich., after battling brain cancer for nearly two years.
The family will have a private memorial service.
Mr. Harding was born April 29, 1940, in Kansas City, Mo.
He graduated from West Chester High School in 1958. He was an exceptional artist and graduated from Art Center School in Los Angeles, Calif., in 1962. He served in the Naval Reserve as an intelligence analyst. He pursued a career in designing cars for General Motors, including designing the Cadillac Eldorado, and reportedly drew the iconic Firebird logo. He lived most of his life in the Detroit, Mich., area. Being an artist and a dreamer, he later pursued the adventure of hot air ballooning. He designed, produced, and even raced hot air balloons.
Surviving are one son, Jameson Stafford; one brother, Joel Harding; and three sisters, Paula Wehr Gray, Mary Ann Wehr Greiner, and Jean Wehr Perle.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Alta Grecian Wehr; his father, William Harding; his stepfather, Ray Wehr; and one sister, Claire Wehr McCoy.
