Linus A. Menke November 18, 1917 - October 15, 2005

      Linus A. Menke, 87, of West Point died at 2:05 a.m. Saturday Oct. 15, 2005 at the Fort Madison Community Hospital.

      His body has been deeded to the University of Iowa Anatomical Dept.

      A memorial mass will be held at 5 p.m. Friday Oct. 21 with Fr. Apo Mpanda officiating. Following the mass the family will meet with friends at the West Point American Legion. Burial will be at a later date at the Calvary Cemetery in West Point. Memorial may be made to the Holy Trinity Music Boosters in lieu of flowers.

      Survivors include four sons: Dennis and his wife Kate Menke of West Point, Dr. Martin and his wife Stacey Menke of Laurie, Mo., Keith and his wife Cheryl Menke of West Point and Tom and his wife Jackie Menke of West Point; three daughters: Kathy and her husband Mohan Jham of Danville, Ill., Nancy and her husband James Franklin of Burlington and Janice and her husband Larry Driscoll of Olathe, Kan.; 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two brothers Clarence "Curley" and his wife Louise Menke of Carroll and Ralph and his wife Lucille Menke of Fort Madison; three sisters Imelda and her husband Louie Eckerman of Oxford, Margaret Pollpeter of Keokuk, Sr. Rose Menke of West Point; and one sister-in-law Dorothy Menke of Tocoma, Wash.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one son, Joseph; daughter Diane, brother Richard; and sister Mary Louise.
