Lisa Ann (Bell) Hardy, 65, of Eagle, Idaho, passed away, at home, on August 16, 2025, surrounded by family. Born on April 2, 1960, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Mary Clarice Brewer and Jack Brewer. Lisa lived a life marked by compassion, leadership, and unwavering dedication to those she served and loved.
Lisa received her Bachelor of Business Administration at Saint Joseph’s College in Maine and went on to receive her Master of Business Administration at the University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL. She devoted her career to senior living and care, beginning as Assistant Administrator at United Presbyterian Home from 1988 to 1993. She went on to serve as Executive Director at Life Care Services LLC from 1994 to 2007, living in Indiana, North Carolina, Alabama and Georgia. Most recently, she was President & CEO of Emerald Communities in Redmond, WA from January 2008 until her retirement in May 2025. There, she oversaw the renovation and expansion of Emerald Heights, a charter community of Emerald Communities, as well as the development of Heron’s Key, a Life Plan Community in Gig Harbor, WA. Her work touched countless lives and reflected her deep commitment to dignity, community, and excellence.
Lisa was a beloved wife, mother, Nana, daughter, sister, and friend. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Barry Plunkett of Eagle, ID; her daughters Jaimee (John) Edwards of Washington, IA, Adrianne (Blake) Shannon of Eagle, ID, Emily Hardy of Daphne, AL and the children she gained through her marriage to Barry; Caitlin (Chris) Gerow of Guyton, GA, Amanda Plunkett and Norma Plunkett of Charleston, SC.
She adored her grandchildren: Alexis Edwards of Washington, IA, Harper, Max, and Palmer Shannon of Eagle, ID, Caden Sheppherd and Tatum Hardy of Fairhope, AL, and Evelyn, Ryall and Neva Gerow of Guyton, GA.
She is also survived by her mother, Mary Clarice Bell of Washington, IA, and her four brothers: Jon (Mary) Bell of Austin, TX, Jeff (Jan) Bell, Jason (Nancy) Bell, and JJ (Lynn) Bell, all of Washington, IA, and her sister Shana Davick (Andrew) of Byron, MN.
She is preceded in death by her biological father, Jack Brewer as well as her father David Bell, who raised her as his own.
Lisa’s legacy is one of love, leadership, and grace. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
There will be a Celebration of Life in Washington, IA.
