Lloyd R. Swartzendruber

      KALONA - Lloyd R. Swartzendruber, 91, of Kalona died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007 in Pleasantview Home in Kalona after a lingering illness.

      Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5 in West Union Mennonite Church in Parnell with the Rev. David Boshart and the Rev. Helen Yoder officiating. Burial will be prior to the memorial service in West Union Cemetery, near Parnell. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday in the Peterseim Funeral Home where the family will greet friends from 2 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Mennonite Disaster Service and the Mennonite Central Committee.

      Mr. Swartzendruber was born Sept. 25, 1915 in Parnell, the son of Isaac and Barbara Swartzendruber. He married Alda Burkey on Aug. 12, 1939 in Milford, Neb.
