Lloyd Richard Schropp was born in Sigourney, Iowa, the son of Lloyd Leo and Mary Colleen (Duffy) Schropp. He attended Williamsburg High School and received his high school diploma in Germany while serving in the United States Army. He served in the United States Army from 1972-1978. Lloyd was united in marriage to Bennie Jo Robinson on December 6, 1975, in Williamsburg. Lloyd worked for the University of Iowa for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and spending time with his grandchildren. He would lend a helping hand to anyone. Lloyd passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinic in Iowa City at the age of 71 years.

He is survived by his wife Bennie; three children, Kristy Schropp, Chad (Amanda Hudgens) Schropp and Zachary (Jade Kleine) Schropp all of Parnell; six grandchildren, Draven, Raylea, Mason, Kaleb, Leo and Micah; five siblings, Pam (Dale) Walter of Williamsburg, Larry (Patti) Schropp of Parnell, Penny Seaver of Iowa City, Paula Schropp of Conroy and John Schropp of Parnell, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, -nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 am on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home.
