LoAnn Bontrager
KALONA ? LoAnn Kay Bontrager, 42, of rural Kalona, died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, at her home.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 17, at the Sharon Bethel Church in rural Kalona. Ministers in charge were Jacob Yoder, Delmar Bontrager, and Moses Yoder Jr. Burial was in the Sharon Bethel Cemetery. Visitation was held from 2 to 8 p.m., Sunday at the church, where the family greeted friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for Washington County Hospice. The Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona was in charge of the arrangements.
LoAnn was born Dec. 8, 1973, in Decatur County near Leon, the daughter of Perry and Pauline (Yoder) Bontrager.
She was born with cerebral palsy and faced many challenges in life. She attended Central Decatur High School.
Surviving are her parents, Perry and Pauline Bontrager of Kalona; three sisters and two brothers, Iva Hunsberger and husband Michael of Westminster, South Carolina, Mary Lou Miller of Kalona, Larry Bontrager of Lexington, Virginia, Lori Schrock and husband Dwight of Sharon Center, and Lamar Bontrager and wife Sarah of Westminster, South Carolina; and 14 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
