Local banks collect donations for victims

      Several local banks, including Firstar and Henry County Bank, are collecting donations to assist the victims of the New York and Washington terrorist bombings.

      Firstar, part of the US Bancorp national banking chain, has a number of locations in southeast Iowa, including Mt. Pleasant. Henry County Bank has locations in Mt. Pleasant, Hillsboro, and New London.

      Both banks are collecting funds for the American Red Cross. Donations may be made at any location of either bank. Checks need to be written to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
