Lois E. Baxter
Lois E. Baxter, 73, of Winfield died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at the Henry County Health Center.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 22, at the Open Bible Church in Winfield with the Rev. Greg Carr officiating. Interment will follow at the Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, April 21 at the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield. There will be no family visitation. A general memorial has been established in her name.
Mrs. Baxter was born Oct. 13, 1926, in Williston, N.D., the daughter of George and Cecelia Pint Bauer. She married James G. Baxter on July 19, 1945, in Fort Madison. She was a graduate of the Columbus High School in Waterloo. She was employed in food services at Iowa Wesleyan College for 26 years. In recent years, she worked at Lensgraf Company and Momentum Golf, both of Winfield. She was a member of the Winfield Church of the Open Bible.
Survivors include seven sons, Jim Baxter of Atlanta, Ga.; Jerry Baxter of Topeka, Kan.; Joe Baxter of Kalona; Randy Baxter of Mt. Pleasant; Mike Baxter of Nixa, Mo.; Greg Baxter of Mt. Pleasant; and Brian Baxter of Greeley, Colo.; four daughters, Dianne Chrisinger of Mt. Pleasant; Judy Watson of Winfield; Lynda Stodgell of Cola; and Sherry Donald of Winfield; one brother, Mike Bauer of Atlanta; one sister, Donna Scheffert of Austin, Texas; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant son; and an infant daughter.
