Kalona
Lois E. Miller, age 88, of Kalona, died Monday, December 29, 2025, at Pleasantview Home in Kalona.
Lois was born September 28, 1937, in rural Wellman, Iowa, the daughter of Irvin and Ethel (Alexander) Gingerich and graduated from Parnell High School in 1955. On April 7, 1957, she married Wilson Miller at the Parnell Mennonite Mission. Lois operated her own in-home daycare for 30 years. She was a member of Full Gospel Church, served meals for the Salvation Army, volunteered with Toys for Tots and spent all day Saturday and Sunday playing piano. She enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls, music boxes, teapots and traveling.
Survivors include seven children: Ethel (Tim) Sieren of Keota, David (Peggy) Miller of Riverside, Jim (Jackie) Miller of Wellman, Brenda (Pat) Mougin of Oxford, Kenny (Leigh) Miller of Kalona, Mike (Chrissy) Miller of Keota and Deb (Kelsey) Redlinger of Kalona; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; one brother Donald Gingerich of Washington, two sisters: Patty Gibson of Mesa, Arizona and Ethel Hetrick of Decatur, Texas and a sister-in-law: Danette Gingerich of Coralville. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Wilson; son: Sgt. Bradford Miller two sisters: Goldie Ruegsegger and Trula Nida and a brother Jerry Gingerich.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona. Burial will be at Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona. Visitation will be from10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home.
