Loretta C. Engler July 19, 1913 - January 25, 2004

Loretta C. Engler, 90, of Burlington, died at 2:55 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004, at New London Nursing and Rehab Center in New London.

      The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29 at St. John the Baptist Church, with the Rev. Patrick Hilgendorf officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Burlington. Visitation will be after 8 a.m., the Rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m., the Christian Wake Service will be at 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 28 at Lunning Chapel in Burlington. A memorial has been established.

Survivors include two daughters, Jeannette and her husband Robert Ojile of Burlington, and Marilyn and her husband Leroy Walljasper of West Point; two sons, Donald and his wife Debra Engler of Burlington, and James and his wife Sue Engler of Coralville; and 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

      In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, seven sisters and nine brothers.
