Louie Arthur Jones, age 82, of Chiriqui, Panama, formerly of Washington, Iowa, passed away in Chiriqui, Panama on Friday, August 30, 2024.

Celebration of life services will be held at a later date at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa. The Jones & Eden Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent for Louie’s family at www.jonesfh.com

Louie was born November 2, 1941, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Willis and Gertrude (Landau) Jones. Louie graduated from Washington High School in 1959 and attended Parsons College. He served honorably in the United States Army. Louie’s family established the Jones Funeral Home in Washington.

Louie lived his early adult life in California where he worked in Real Estate. He later lived in the Scottsdale/Fountain Hills, Arizona area where he was the owner of several businesses including a “Hawkeye” sports bar and restaurant. Louie was an avid sports enthusiast and an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan his entire life. Following his retirement he moved to Chiriqui, Panama. Louie enjoyed the beautiful tropical country and met some wonderful people that became his Panama “family.”

Louie was the last of his immediate family. He is survived by several cousins including Larry and Brenda Fishback, Caitlin (Dillon) Redlinger, Stephanie Fishback and Kyle Fishback.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, David.
