Louis 'Lou' Loyd

Louis "Lou" Loyd, 48, of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, at his home, following a lengthy illness with leukemia.

      Mr. Loyd's body has been cremated according to his wishes. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, at 2 p.m., at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Don Coffin officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to his family in his memory.

Survivors include his wife, two sons, Louis William Loyd III and his wife Sara of Eveleth, Minn., and David Lee Loyd of Mt. Pleasant; one daughter, Candy Lynn Loyd of Mt. Pleasant; his mother and step-father, Geneva and Lloyd Stewart of West Burlington; one sister, Sue Anne Loyd of Burlington; and four grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by his father.
