Louise Theresa "Tina" Lins, age 82, of Washington, Iowa, died Friday, June 21, 2019, at the University of Iowa Hospital surrounded by her family following a sudden illness.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Bernie Weir and Fr. Troy Richmond officiating. The family will be present to receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church. Interment will take place at a later date. Tina was born September 5, 1936, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Mabel (Frazier) Monscour. She graduated from high school in Des Moines. Tina was united in marriage to John E. Lins on July 16, 1956, in Washington, Iowa. She lived most of her adult life in Washington, Iowa, where she was a member of St. James Church.

Tina was a proud homemaker and enjoyed caring for and raising her family, but her hobbies and interests were many. Tina and John would spend hours working on their flowerbeds and enjoyed sharing them with friends and neighbors. Her love of crafting led her to having her own small business for several years. She especially looked forward to Sundays when great granddaughter Emma would spend the day with her, making special memories. In her later years, she enjoyed watching tennis and reading with her faithful little poodle, Daisy, cozied up beside her.

She is survived by her son, John Lins and wife Sue of Carlisle, Iowa; son, Joe Lins and wife Bonnie of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Melissa Lins of North Liberty, Iowa; four grandchildren: Mike Lins and wife Shelly of Washington, Iowa; Matt Lins and girlfriend Kelsey Martins of Washington; Jeff Lins of Chicago, Illinois; Eric Lins and wife Becky of Cedar Falls, Iowa; six great grandchildren; brother, Michael Monscour and wife Sherry of Ft. Myers, Florida; sister, Elaine Monscour of Clairmont, Florida; and sister, Mary Barstow of Valdese, North Carolina.

Tina was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John in 2012: and siblings, Rosie Crouch, JoAnne Hagman, Madeline Monscour, and Dick Monscour.
