Lucille Werning

KEOTA ? Lucille Werning, 89, of Dassel, Minn., died Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at Lakeview Ranch in Dassel, Minn., after a battle with dementia.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 4, at Holy Trinity Parish-St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Keota with the Rev. Bernard Weir officiating. Inurnment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemeteries-St. Mary?s Catholic Cemetery in Keota. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, March 4, at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Dementia Foundation, Alzheimer?s Association, American Heart Association, or Holy Trinity Parish. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is handling the arrangements.

Mrs. Werning was born Oct. 5, 1920, on the family farm near Van Horne, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Becker) Pieper. She married William F. Werning on Nov. 25, 1941, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Van Horne.
