Luther E. Brown, Jr.

Luther Edward Brown, Jr., 73, of rural Wayland, died Monday, July 28, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a lengthy illness.

Visitation will begin at noon Thursday, July 31, at Beatty Funeral Home in Washington, with family present from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral service has been set for 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at the Eicher Mennonite Church with the Rev. Herb Yoder officiating. Following the service, his body will be cremated; inurnment will be at the Eicher Cemetery at a later date.

A memorial has been established for the Eicher Mennonite Church.

He was born Feb. 10, 1935, in Williamstown, Mo., the son of Luther and Mildred Speer Brown. On Dec. 15, 1955, he married Shirley Morris in Kahoka, Mo.
