Luther Edward Brown

      Luther Edward Brown, 73, of rural Wayland, died Monday, July 28, 2008, in the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a lengthy illness.

      Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1 in the Eicher Mennonite Church with the Rev. Herb Yoder officiating. Following the service, the body will be cremated and interred in the Eicher Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will begin at noon Thursday in the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington where the family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Eicher Mennonite Church.

      Mr. Brown was born Feb. 10, 1935, in Williamstown, Mo., the son of Luther E. and Mildred M. (Speer) Brown. He married Shirley Morris on Dec. 15, 1955 in Kahoka, Mo.
