Lyle E. Clancy
Lyle E. Clancy, 75, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Davis County, died Friday, Feb. 1, at Arbor Court in Mt. Pleasant.
His body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Church of the Nazarene in Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Ken Smith officiating.

He was born Dec. 31, 1932 in Ottumwa, the son of John and Iola Hawkins Clancy. On Sept. 21, 1957, he married Verna M. Willier in Oskaloosa.
A graduate of Ottumwa High School, he served in the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne, and obtained the rank of Sergeant. Upon his discharge, he became a self-employed carpenter, and later an ordained minister of the Church of the Nazarene. He served churches in Lake City, Lacona, Oelwein and Mt. Pleasant, before retiring from the ministry. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Mt. Pleasant.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Brent Clancy and his wife Nancy and Brian Clancy and his wife Kim, all of Bloomfield, and Blaine Clancy and his wife Sue of Mt. Pleasant; three daughters, Barbara Showalter and her husband Artie of Rosehill, Bonnie Ford and her husband Randy and Bev Schumacher and her husband Drew, all of Mt. Pleasant; two brothers, Lee Clancy and his wife Mary and Les Clancy and his wife Karen, all of St. James, Mo.; and two sisters, Ida Hand of Rolla, Mo. and Iva Yates of Licking, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and three step-great-grandchildren.
His parents and sister Ila preceded him in death.
