Lyle 'Hoot' Zahradnek,
KALONA - Lyle "Hoot" Zahradnek, 81, of Pleasantview Home in Kalona died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, in the home after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, in Peterseim Funeral home in Kalona with the Rev. David L. Yoder officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, Iowa City. Memorials may be made to the Iowa City Hospice or Kalona First Responders.
Mr. Zahradnek was born April 20, 1926, in rural Johnson County, the son of Charles and Betty (Hasley) Zahradnek. He married Phyllis Spenner on Jan. 5, 1953 in Mt. Pleasant.
