Lyle Taylor

Lyle Taylor, 89, of Fairfield, died Monday, March 24, 2014, at home.

A funeral is at 2 p.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating. A private burial of the cremains will be at a later date.

Visitation for family and friends is an hour prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

A memorial fund has been established. Memorials and cards may be sent to 2903 W. Adams Ave., Apt. D, Fairfield 52556.

Mr. Taylor was born April 24, 1924, in New Sharon, the son of Harold Taylor and Nina Burbank Taylor. He married Miriam Morgan Taylor May 26, 1945 in Lawton, Okla.

He served in the Army during World War II.

After the Army, he farmed in New Sharon.

In 1965, he and his family moved to Packwood where he started working for Middlekoop Seed Co. for 49 years and was a very dedicated farmer.

Spending time with family and friends was one of his great joys.

Survivors include three children, Jim Taylor and spouse Elaine of Longmont, Colo., Sally Coborn and spouse Dan of Plano, Texas, and David Taylor of St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and one brother, Elvin Taylor.
