Lyle Wayne Olson

    KEOTA ? Lyle Wayne Olson, 86, of Keota, died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, in the VA Medical Center in Iowa City, following a sudden illness.

    Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at the United Church of Faith in Keota.  Burial with military rites will be at 4 p.m. Friday in the Roland Cemetery in Roland.  Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota.  A general memorial fund has been established.

    Mr. Olson was born Sept. 29, 1923, in Roland, the son of Sanford and Bernadine (Stone) Olson.  He married Arlene E. Hammond on June 13, 1948, in Roland.  She preceded him in death in July 1968.  He married Dorothy A. Fry on Aug. 1, 1971, in Nevada, Iowa.
