Lynn H. Schimmels

      Lynn H. Schimmels, 78, of Fairfield, died Sunday, July 27, 2008, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

      A Celebration of Life service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Fairfield Senior Citizen Center, with the Rev. Keevin Koch officiating. According to Mr. Schimmel's wishes, the body has been cremated. Burial of cremains will be at a later date in Chapel Hills Gardens Cemetery in OakBrook Terrace, Ill.

      Mr. Schimmels was born March 30, 1930, in Naponee, Neb., the son of Antone and Josie Gertrude Hays Schimmels. He married Imogene Bailey March 17, 1956. She died Sept. 12, 1994.
