M. EILEEN CRAIG

Mount Pleasant

M. Eileen Craig of Mount Pleasant, formerly of Keosauqua, passed away Sunday July 25, 2021, at Park Place Nursing Home in Mount Pleasant.

She was born Jan. 31, 1924, to Patrick and Nellie (O'Tool) Lowder. She graduated from Clark County High School in 1941. On Oct. 29, 1945, she married Bob Craig. Eileen worked at Van Buren County High School, Van Buren County Home and at the Keosauqua Sale Co., which she and Bob owned at the time. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fairfield.

Eileen loved playing "Skipo" with her friends and family. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she just really enjoyed putting up Christmas decorations and viewing Christmas lights around town

She is survived by three children, Larry (Cheryl) of Stanardsville, Va., Barbara Craig of Des Moines and Betty (Chad) Moore of Mount Pleasant; two grandchildren. Cheri (Craig) Morris and Rob (Sarah) Craig, both of Virginia; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister, two brothers and her parents.

Visitation with family present will be at St. Alphonsis Catholic Church in Mount Pleasant on Thursday July 29, from 3 to 6 p.m. On Friday July 30, there will be a visitation at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua with family from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. followed by funeral services at 2:30 p.m. with Father Nick Adam officiating. Burial will be at Pittsburg Cemetery, west of Keosauqua. Memorials will be to Pittsburg Cemetery and towards a Christmas display at Old Threshers may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 1610 235th St., Mount Pleasant, IA 52641.
