Mabel F. Deck Miller, 89, of Mt. Pleasant, died at 12:20 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, at the Mapleleaf Health Care Center.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000. There will be no family visitation at the funeral home.

A memorial funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000 in the Chapel of Forest Home Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Kiboko I. Kiboko officiating.

Internment will be held in Forest Home Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to Mapleleaf Health Care Center Activity Fund.

Mrs. Miller was born on March 31, 1910 in the Merrimac area of Henry County, Iowa to John F. and Clara A. Troutman Deck. On Sept. 26, 1936 at Mt. Pleasant, she married Charles E. Miller who preceded her in death on April 13, 1992.

She was a homemaker and worked for three years at Iris Motel, two years at Flying Gables Motel, and a short time at Metromail. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mt. Pleasant.

She is survived by one sister-in-law, Doris Deck of Mt. Pleasant; four nieces, Linda Messer of Nichols, Delores Vesley of Tiffin, Pat Seeberger of San Diego, Calif., and Carol Fwartz of Naples, Fla.; four nephews, Richard Deck of Aurora, Ill., Ronald Deck of River View, Fla., Lester Deck, Jr. of Naperville, Ill., and H. Eugene Deck of New London; and many grandnieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Grace Schaffer and Pauline Harris; and four brothers, Carlton, Lester, Sr., Harry, and Elmer Deck.
